Park for Opera House, Ostrava

Display info

We are designing a city park based on a distinctive concept of three elements – a gazebo, a pyramid and a lake.

The trio of the aforementioned structures is organically connected to the main promenade in the park. This whole forms the social center of gravity of the park, which is wrapped by a wide oval-shaped path. The central oval defines the park as a distinctive space with its own program. The main promenade connects important public buildings and institutions in the immediate vicinity of the park. The main entrances to the park take the form of city bosquets. The main bosquet - gallery is spread between the future philharmonic hall and the church. Outside the central oval, one can enter the area of the “Jewish Gardens” and the “Gardens by the Hospital” with a different scale and specific atmosphere.
