The Němčice Castle Garden is a creation of man and was created thanks to his cooperation with nature. It is not possible to create a replica of the garden that was here in the past. First, sufficient documentation has not been preserved, and secondly, a work is to be created for current use. We cannot propose a reconstruction of the historical park in detail, but we strive for a holistic tuning of the space, where it will be possible to feel the spirit of the place.
Current status - the terrain inside the "garden" is relatively more permeable today, mainly due to the current sheep farming. The shrub layer and smaller diameters of invasive trees have been removed. The species and age composition of the current trees is not diverse and there is a lack of mainly younger generations of trees that would form the skeleton of the growth in the future. The composition lacks exotic and interesting taxa. The building structures of individual objects and elements are significantly degraded or are already completely decayed, e.g. the orangery was destroyed in the 1950s. The water regime in the area needs to be addressed. There is no drainage network. The 600m long enclosure wall is also in a state of disrepair. The castle garden is part of a wider historical area.
We created a proposal for the restoration of the area and the subsequent project documentation for the descendants of the original owners. We are restoring the connection with the past and at the same time with the surrounding landscape - composing the growth structure incl. herbal undergrowth, new water regime, restoration of the pond under the castle, establishment of two more ponds north of the garden, road network, preservation of original small architecture, new building structures, etc.
