St. Wenceslas Quarry, Klatovy

This is a place with the most beautiful view of the Klatov towers. We are designing a linear lookout object here, whose modeling responds to the topography of the rock face. The large lookout has the ambition to be a spacious and open promenade that is suspended from the rock. It is a monolithic reinforced concrete structure that is based on micropiles under the upper edge of the rock. The main part of the lookout with a staircase has the form of a large console extended above the water surface.

The extensive concept aims to maintain a certain wildness of the location and at the same time create new opportunities for recreation. We do not propose to make nature cozier and more beautiful. We do not deal with the entire area evenly. We purposefully select only exposed areas in terms of traffic and recreation. In these individual cases, we subsequently design new areas including vegetation.
